The novel Coronavirus has shaken India, consequent upon the announcement of a nationwide lockdown for three weeks. Huge migratory flows, amid difficult conditions, have been reported from several cities, though Delhi has attracted maximum attention.
How does one understand the Indian crisis? What are the short- and medium-run implications for India's political economy?
Ashutosh Varshney will lead the discussion on the virus and its implications with Roshan Kishore, Visiting Fellow at the Center for the Advanced Study of India, University of Pennsylvania, and Data and Political Economy Editor of The Hindustan Times (Delhi). After a 30-minute conversation between Varshney and Kishore, we will open up for Q and A for half an hour.
