As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Providence Public School system has an increased need for help in translating school-related information for families whose children attend any of the Providence public schools.
Brown's Center for Language Studies along with Brown's Annenberg Institute is looking for students, faculty or staff with expertise in certain languages to volunteer to help with communications going out to families. Although the schools have a messaging app that translates into a variety of languages, they have found that this doesn't provide the human touch required for a successful school to home communication.
