Before I left Brown, I constantly overheard students saying that this is their chance to go to Hawaiʻi. While this time presents an opportunity to travel, I ask that you please read this article. Hawaiʻi has a history of their Native people being decimated from diseases brought by visitors. Hawaiʻi is fragile and while you view it as a place you enjoy for a short vacation for some of us, everything that we have is there. Unless you are returning home please do not visit Hawaiʻi.
