tbh, the non-ending debate between grades and UP is more draining than grades and school itself. Also, I know UP included trigger and content warnings on their ads using direct quotes, but as a mentally ill, low income person, it felt exploitative for them to use the quotes. Wish the organizers of UP would also not base solutions for certain students on false information (Course performance reports and S with distinctions are not adequate solutions for pre-professional students). As crappy as it is that med schools are still requiring grades, a universal pass policy would mean that I would have to re-take courses for a grade to qualify for certain med schools, and this would add a financial burden for me. If you are reading this and are prepared to shut me down and call me selfish for not wanting UP, please don't; my mental health can't take this. "
