The Brown Department of Public Safety understands that for some, home may not be a safe place. During the Covid-19 public health emergency, many people are staying home essentially all the time. According to the Rhode Island Coalition Against Domestic Violence, calls for help are up 29% over this same time last year. If you are afraid or need help, you are not alone. Please call the RI Helpline at 1-800-494-8100 or the National Domestic Violence Helpline at 1-800-799-7233. If you are need of immediate assistance, please don’t hesitate to call your local police department for help. The below link will provide you with information on Active Bystanders, Safety Planning, Resources, Agency Services, and Restraining Orders. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us at campus_safety@brown.edu
