The Brown University Library is proud to dedicate a digital bookplate in recognition of the Brown Graduates of 2020, who persevered through the COVID-19 related campus closure.
The bookplate features a pencil drawing on foam core of the sculpture, Idee di Pietra (Ideas of Stone), 2006 by Giuseppe Penone, which was installed on the Main Green in fall 2016. The bookplate design was created by Library staff member and artist Stephen Gervais, who said, "The image is meant to evoke a peaceful, fond memory of campus."
All of us at the Library hope students enjoy viewing the bookplate and exploring the selected titles to which it is linked. This small symbol of our appreciation and support will endure beyond the pandemic and stand as a testament to your fortitude and resilience. Congratulations and very best wishes to you all!
