people who make the argument that they need grades to salvage their GPAs or for medical school are inconsiderate to the fact that not every student here is able-bodied or rich or privileged in any way shape or form. some of us have to go back home to shitty wifi and have to take up some form of familial responsibility which many of you coddled ignorant assholes don’t know anything about. this is a global pandemic and just because we’re not on campus doesn’t mean we’re safe from the economic and health effects of the virus. many of our family members are at risk and will probably get infected at some point. lives are at stake but all you care about is how shitty your freshmen year was and how you need to save your ass with one semester of grades, and that’s assuming you even do well which many of us cannot because of the fucking situation we have at home. universal s/nc isn’t perfect but it’s the only way to equalize the field and account for the shit show that this semester has turned into. "
