16043 - I just want to say that if you have made a Chinese-American, Chinese international, or any Asian student in general feel bad about being Asian/even remotely uncomfortable because you made a joke or a racist remark about the coronavirus, you are a despicable human being. It's not being "cautious" or "careful" if you continuously spread lies about all Chinese people eating bats/rats/snakes/exotic birds or if you think all Chinese people "deserve" to get the coronavirus because of some reason you made up. It's racism. The vast majority of Chinese people are just trying to live a normal, happy, long life--just like you. Please have a little compassion for the people who are currently suffering at the epicenter of the coronavirus in China, the medical personnel who are sacrificing their time and possibly their lives to help, and your fellow students, many of whom have family in China and spend every day worrying about them. None of these people need your bullshit right now. Please think about what you say before you say it.
