When we implemented Zoom videoconferencing service in 2017, we did not imagine how important the service would be to university operations! As we have shifted to off-campus work and remote teaching and learning, Zoom use has quadrupled. As of July 30, 2020 meeting recordings stored in the Zoom cloud will be saved for one year. Meetings in the Zoom cloud recorded before July 30, 2019 will be deleted on July 30, 2020. When a recording is deleted, it moves to your trash folder in Zoom and can be recovered for 30 days. After recovery, the recording is available for 24 hours so you can download it. In line with Brown’s digital course content retention policy, Zoom course recordings in Canvas or Panopto Media Library will be retained for five years. If you want to keep your Zoom recordings, please download and store them in a secure location, like your Brown Google Drive or departmental storage.
