In light of Brown's recent transition to remote learning, students and other Brown community members may need to make additional preparations to assure they can vote. Below you will find information about upcoming elections, but please reach out with additional questions to brown_votes@brown.edu. You can also find answers to many of your voting questions at https://libguides.brown.edu/brownvotes.

Changes to Presidential Primaries:

Many states – including Rhode Island – have postponed their presidential primaries in response to COVID-19. Rhode Island’s primary is now planned for June 2, and Governor Raimondo is urging that the state hold a predominantly mail ballot primary.

How to Forward your Absentee Ballots from your Brown Mailbox:

If you requested an absentee ballot to your Brown mailbox that did not arrive before you left campus, use Brown’s mail forwarding service (https://www.brown.edu/about/administration/mail) to send it to your new location.

Not Yet Registered or Need an Absentee Ballot?

If you have yet to register and/or request an absentee ballot, go to brown.turbovote.org. By signing up with TurboVote, you will also receive updated information about where and when to vote. If you prefer, you can check your state’s election office website for up-to-date information (visit https://www.democracy.works/state-links for contact details).
