Here’s what you need to know: The Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service announced that distribution of economic impact payments will begin in the next three weeks and will be distributed automatically, with no action required for most people. It will be automatically deposited into your bank accounts. If you don’t have the direct deposit system, the IRS will be utilizing a portal on its website to access your payment. Social Security recipients and railroad retirees who are otherwise not required to file a tax return are also eligible and will NOT be required to file a return. If you haven’t filed your ’19 tax forms they will follow your ’18 filing form. At this time the deadline to file and pay federal income tax is extended to July 15, 2020. The Department of Public Safety wants you to be wary of scams. Check out the below link for more information on the stimulus payment. BE SAFE BROWN!
