An update regarding Summer Session:

Due to the ongoing worldwide impact of the pandemic, we have made the difficult decision to cancel all on-campus Summer Session 2020 courses. This comes as part of a set of broader decisions about Brown’s summer programs, including that all residential Pre-College Programs and Sports Camps scheduled to take place both on- and off-campus between June 13 and July 6 are cancelled, with decisions about later Pre-College Programs and Sports Camps to follow.

While we are unable to offer Summer Session courses in person, all currently scheduled Summer Session online courses will run as planned and, in the coming weeks, as many of the planned on-campus courses as possible will transition to online offerings. The goal is to ensure that any student who was planning to take courses during the summer will still have the ability to do so, even if the format has shifted.

Summer Session registration remains open through June 22. Please continue to visit the Summer Session website (https://www.brown.edu/academics/summer-session/) as the best source for updated information about which courses will ultimately be offered online. As online Summer Session courses are confirmed, they will be updated on that website. While registration will continue for an additional month, we encourage students to register for any courses they would like to take by May 19, even if they are currently listed as on-campus courses. This will ensure students have a place in the course and help us anticipate student demand for specific offerings.
