“For these students, letter grades this semester – even if only in one class – could showcase their resilience in the face of adversity” - Im sorry... will our transcript show an asterisk next to our A w/ a side note detailing the adversity we faced? Does the University not understand that this is going to further oppress low income and minority students because graduate programs and job opportunities are going to value an A from someone with no other obligation than to study over a B from someone who had to deal with terrible wifi, working 2 jobs, and having no place to study/focus. and just an FYI, “a broad range of backgrounds” means wealthy children of donors :-) "
