I understand the various arguments for opening the S/NC deadline, making all courses S/NC, and Universal Pass. In all of the Dear Blueno comment threads I've found some insightful and meaningful dialogue and disagreement about these policies. What nobody seems to be acknowledging is that there will never be a ""unicorn"" of a perfect solution to this issue - any policy is going to end up hurting people somewhere along the way. I wish people could have some empathy for one another in the policies they feel personally in favor of, and that there are many valid places to be coming from on this issue.

However, I also wish people would consider the larger picture outside themselves when making sweeping policy statements, and at least to me, Universal Pass seems the most robust a system to minimally harm folks and retain protections for the most marginalized among us. Please feel free to disagree, but in a way that is understanding of the positionality from which you speak and impact of what you say."
